IFB and talkback, on the phone in their ear
Speak to one commentator or presenter without the crew hearing. Their program feed ducks while you talk, and they answer on talkback — their air microphone stays closed.
What IFB means here
IFB (interruptible foldback) is the director's voice interrupting what the talent hears. In Active Intercom the director picks a person and holds to talk: only that person hears it, on top of their program return, and the program level dips so every word is clear.
Program return without echo
The commentator hears the program mix with their own voice removed (N-1 / mix-minus), plus sidetone at a level they choose. No delay echo, no feedback, no separate mixer to build.
Talkback that never leaks to air
Pressing TALKBACK cuts the commentator from the broadcast and opens their voice to the director's channel. Release it and they are back on air.
Per-person IFB
Talk in one ear, not the whole crew.

FAQ
Does the crew hear IFB?
No. IFB goes only to the person you select; channel talk goes to the channel.
Can several commentators each have their own IFB?
Yes. Each commentator has their own return and can be addressed individually.
Does it work with vMix and with Relaya?
Yes — the commentator console is the same; the voice goes either to the vMix PC receiver or into Relaya cloud production.
