Production communication for the whole crew
Director, camera operators, audio, graphics, floor and commentators on one communication system: push-to-talk channels, IFB, calls and tally — over Wi-Fi and mobile data, from the studio to remote venues.

One system instead of radios, phones and group chats
Productions often run on a mix of walkie-talkies, phone calls and messaging groups. Active Intercom puts everyone on the same push-to-talk channels, with the director able to reach one person, one group or the whole crew — and everyone able to see who is listening.
Where crews use it
- Studio productions and news
- OB and sports broadcasts
- Remote production (REMI) — venue and central control room on one workspace
- Events, concerts and conferences
- Multi-city and international productions
Works on any network
Wi-Fi, 4G/5G or wired; our own TURN relay gets through strict venue firewalls and carrier NAT. In the iPhone and Android apps audio keeps running with the phone locked, and reconnects by itself when the network changes.
Connects to what you already have
vMix tally on operators' phones, commentary into vMix or Relaya cloud production, and a Dante / 4-wire bridge (pilot) to hardware intercom in the truck.
Channels & roles
Everyone sees only the channels they need.
IFB & calls
Reach one person or the whole crew.
Tally on the phone
Program and preview for each camera.
Any network
Wi-Fi, mobile data, TURN relay.
FAQ
Can it replace walkie-talkies?
For crews on Wi-Fi or mobile data, yes — no frequencies or licences, unlimited range over the internet, and channels with roles. Where there is no network at all, radios are still the tool.
How much delay is there?
Usually well under a quarter of a second between phones on a normal internet line.
Does everyone need the app?
Field crews use the iPhone or Android app; the control room can use a laptop browser.
Is the audio encrypted?
Yes. Audio is WebRTC (DTLS-SRTP) end to end through our servers and TURN relay.
