Your intercom matrix, on every phone — over Dante

Keep the Clear-Com, Riedel or RTS system in the truck. A Dante bridge puts selected partylines and ports into Active Intercom channels, so the people beltpacks can't reach — remote commentators, venue crew, producers at home — talk to the same matrix from a phone.

Status: pilot

The Dante bridge is rolling out with selected broadcasters in Q4 2026 on the Pro plan. Tell us your matrix and Dante setup and we will include you in the pilot.

Dante and 4-wire bridge between an intercom matrix and Active Intercom
Dante / 4-wire bridge: the matrix stays, remote people join from their phones.
Remote production: venue crew and central control room on one workspace
Remote production — the venue and the central control room share one workspace.

Why Dante

Most current intercom matrices already offer Dante or AES67 interface cards, and many trucks route intercom ports over Dante today. A Windows PC running Dante Virtual Soundcard joins that network like any other Dante device — no new hardware goes into the matrix and nothing changes for the beltpacks.

How it works

  1. Install Dante Virtual Soundcard and the Active Intercom Bridge app on a Windows PC in the truck's Dante network.
  2. In Dante Controller, route the matrix ports you want to share — for example the director partyline or a commentator IFB — to the virtual soundcard channels.
  3. In the Bridge app, map each channel to an Active Intercom channel (up to 16 channels per bridge PC in the first release).
  4. Remote users talk and listen in those channels from the app. For the matrix, each bridged channel is simply one more port.

No Dante in the truck? Use 4-wire

The same Bridge app works with an analog 4-wire port through an Audinate AVIO analog adapter or a USB audio interface. One 4-wire port equals one intercom channel, talk and listen.

What the remote side gets

Why we are building it

At crowded venues, wireless beltpack systems run out of clean spectrum while phones on mobile data keep working. Crews told us the same thing again and again: the phone intercom worked, but it could not reach the truck's matrix. The bridge closes that gap.

FAQ

Is the Dante bridge available today?

It is in pilot. We are rolling it out with selected broadcasters in Q4 2026 on the Pro plan — write to [email protected] with your matrix model and Dante setup.

Which intercom systems can be bridged?

Any matrix with a Dante or AES67 interface, or an analog 4-wire port: Clear-Com, Riedel, RTS and others.

What do I need in the truck?

A Windows PC on the Dante network with Dante Virtual Soundcard, and internet access for that PC. For 4-wire: an Audinate AVIO analog adapter or a USB audio interface instead.

How much delay does the bridge add?

The Dante leg adds only a few milliseconds; the rest is the normal internet path of the phone, the same as intercom between two phones.
